Ipod Problems Again

About four months ago I started having problems with my Ipod. AGAIN! It would not sync and after a wile would not connect to Itunes. I was not that bothered as it was full but about 40% of the stuff on it I would like to have replaced with new stuff. It got to the point where I was using my backup 1GB MP3 player fulltime and the pod was gathering dust. So about two weeks ago I decided that I was not paying all that money for an Ipod and have the thing just sit on my desk. I started battering my way through forums and FAQ’s and started hacking away at the pod but anything I tried didn’t work. In the end I took it to a friend who eats Ipods for breakfast. He played with it for a bit with one hand wile juggling chainsaws with the other and balancing a pint of beer on his head. He then told me it connected fine and he can add and delete files. This gave me a little hope and I looked forward to putting my new music on it. Saturday night late I decide to plug in my now apparently working Ipod. To my complete surprise it connected. I did a restore which took about 20 min and of course the battery ran out. After a bit of a charge it carried on and told me to connect it to the mains charger to complete the restore. It restored, connected and I even put two LP's on it. I put it back on for a full charge ready to fill it up and set about stacking up Itunes. I did about 30 LP's then went to bed. So, Sunday night late I plug the Ipod in and the computer crashes. Then it was not recognised. Then it connected and Itunes locked. To cut a long story short I got a long string of problems. The last LP I tried to put on it seamed to go through the motions but nothing appeared in the list. Odd, I thought. When I checked my MP3'3 I found 90% of them had gone and the ones that were there didn't have a bit rate. I have a little program that changes the icon to the bit rate of the mp3, why I install this I'm not sure. Funny, I was not angry or upset just kind of numb. Anyway, I digress. All the folders were still there but no MP3's. The pod was forgotten and my attention turned to what the hell happened to my mp3's. The HDD showed the same amount of files and free space but the recycle bin had no mp3's in it. The internet lock went on and I started a 2 hour full virus scan which found a few tracking cookies and nothing else. I rebooted the PC then decided to have a look if any other files were missing. All else looked OK and once I returned my efforts to the MP3's I found that they were all still there and unharmed. My bed was calling so after checking another 5 times that my MP3’s really were ok I hit the sack. This morning I've had three hours on the Ipod and got the same story along with the invisible MP3's. I just give up. It's not worth the hassle. Everybody I know that has had an Ipod has had hassle of some kind with it. For me considering the amount of money you pay for an Ipod it’s just not worth what you have to go through to keep it working. To be fair I have an old Ipod but even the new models are not 100% reliable. I have a 1GB MP3 player, it connects, you can copy and delete stuff from it as is your want and it doesn’t need drivers or a program that you need a degree to use. OK so it’s not 20GB but then again at the moment neither is the Ipod. You can get a 16GB micro SD card for £37 why in the hell would you spend £145 on an Ipod that may or may not work properly. It’s not a device for playing music, it's a full time hobby that eats large amounts of time and if you’re not careful your mp3's as well. I don't think I will ever waste my money on an Ipod ever again. So it's getting stuck in with the rest of my old and half broken crap until I find a wobbly table of its thickness. I JUST GIVE UP!!!!!

London Trains

Trains are something I find myself moaning about quite a lot. More so now I have to use the tube as well. The trains are getting worse and more overcrowded. I can't believe that more people are using them due to the large amount of people that are being given the boot. Maybe more of the people who start work at 5, 6 or 7 are now doing 9 to 5. Whatever the reason is I don't care, I want them off my train so I can sit down and read my book. I would also like a bit of quiet to read my book as well. So all you people who think that it's acceptable to use the train as your personal office and start a phone conversation asking Emma to reschedule your 11am and if David could cover for Sarah who has phoned in sick today, I got news for you. Everybody in the carriage hates you and Sarah phoned in sick because she can't stand working for you as your too stupid and lazy to get into work on time and conduct your business from your office where you should be. I just don't get it. These idiots can pull out there blackberry's and spout tedious drivel for 20 minutes and that's fine but if I want to drill The Misfits into my brain to wake myself up a bit I'm Satan destroyer of train journeys. I was reading some trash free paper a wile ago and some idiots were moaning about certain ladies on trains putting makeup on. WHY! At least they ain't making any noise wile they do it. If they keep quiet they can make each other up as clowns and animals and stick before and after photos on the windows for all I care. Since I started writing this I have yet again been treated to a shining example of how low some people get in London. I was standing on a train as usual going to work and shock horror after two stops I am in the most privileged position to be standing next to a recently vacated seat. In a fraction of the flap of a flies wings I planted my gluteus maximus into the still warm seat. I was not sitting down for ten seconds when I became aware of the gimp across the aisle from me saying "try asking that guy". I was well aware that I was that guy so I turned to look who was going to ask me what. It was a short woman, so without thinking or waiting to hear what she was going to ask me I gave her my seat. It was only after I had stood up that I noticed she was very pregnant. It took about 10 minutes for what happened to sink in. A heavily pregnant woman made it known that she needed a seat, which I was not aware of I hasten to add at this point and this low life scum across the aisle from me told her to ask somebody else. If you have ever done anything like this guy then you are worse than the lowest scum on earth and deserve an acute and recurring dose of external haemorrhoid's. Trains in London are bad enough without the people on them making it worse. Do everybody a favour and chill out.

Call Of Duty

I finished Call of duty one yesterday. It finished the same as C.O.D Two did. The last but one level was well tough and the last level was a walk in the park. I installed the expansion pack (C.O.D United Offensive) for C.O.D One this morning. It is well hard. After a bit of messing around the first level is a big battle field with stuff going on all over the place. One rifle, 8 spuds and no machine gun. First thing I did after holding off the entire Nazi party with a machine gun so big it could decapitate an elephant was to knoble a Nazi and nick his machine gun. Tanks, Nazis and artillery left, right and center. Its a good job you get health packs, mind you, you have to stay alive long enough to pick them up. The bit I'm stuck on at the moment is getting right up my nose. I gotta take out tanks with a bazooka with yanks fighting Nazis hand to hand all round me. Three shells per bazooka per fox hole. Two shells to spank a tank. Can I get the bazooka to fire straight? Can I testicles. First hit tells the tank where you are, if you miss the second your dog food. I started on hardest setting and died so quickly I thought I had a virus on the PC. Even on easy it is well tough. Excellent stuff, second best shoot um up on the PC. C.O.D Two being the best. I have not played four yet. Gears Of War 2 for the Xbox 360 is out in November 2008. I better start saving my money and get on line for that sucker.

Now, Where's my MP 44.

Dull day for a blog

Not much in the news today. The farmer from Derbyshire who has got four transport for London parking tickets for his tractor that had not been 6 miles from his farm gave me a bit of a giggle. A pubs boss hit out at the binge culture in Britain and blamed heavy-drinking. No poop Poirot. Apart from that it’s the same old same old. Bit of a let down really. Where are all the morons today? Never mind, Iggy Pop is on TV tonight. That will cheer me up.

Hello Again

I've decided to jump start the old blog. It needed a bit of a tweak here and there but I think I got it firing on all cylinders now. I had a bit of a redecorate as well as the colour writing on a black background was freaking my eyes out. Every time I was done reading something it left screen burn on my eyes. All I need now is something to write about so I'm going to read the news. I can generally find something to moan about in the news.

Contracting 2

OK I admit it Contracting is crap. Well, it is for me. I now have to suffer a continues stream of idiots phoning me up scabbing money for training I don't want and even bigger idiots asking me if I want to clean toilets for tuppence a week. I have no idea what these people do for a cut of my wages, but I look for the jobs, I set up interviews and I do the work. I think I'm doing something wrong.

Contracting

Contracting is great. I don't advise anybody do it as that would leave less work for me. The downside is that it leaves even less time for me to do my blog. The upside is that when moron managers act like complete idiots and get on my wick, I just leave. I will say this to all mangers, people only pretend to like you so you don't pick on them. They all talk about you behind your back. This has been the case on every site I have ever worked on. Enjoy work tomorrow. Nobody who works for you does.

I'm Alive

I'm still here. I have now quit my crap job and work for myself. This means I can sit at home on my lazy arse when I want. This also means I get payed twice as much for doing half the amount of work. Before you ask no I haven't got that tenner I owe you.

Still Here

I'm still about. Just busy. Trains are still really getting up my nose. I must really make more time. If anybody has the recipe I would love a copy.

My Blog

I've neglected my blog for a wile and I really should make more of an effort. Lots of things have happened to moan about but it was bad enough having them happen without having to write about them as well. Hoards of computer problems, scratched cameras, work sucks and everything I buy is broke and I have to take it back. I've stopped doing the lottery, I spend the money on ice cream instead.

I'm Back

I have let the blog slip for a wile but I am going to try and pull my finger out and do a days. Something that has been getting on my wick lately is that everything I buy is broke and I have to take it back. I bought a USB dongle from Maplins that I had to get my money back on as they had no more, then bought a USB 2 PCMCIA card for my laptop that don't recognize USB2, then Jessops kept me waiting 17 minutes then sold me a camera with a big scratch on the screen and last but I bet it wont be, I upgraded my phone and two days later the keys stopped working. Even when I complain about this stuff I get an impersonal rubber stamp letter apologizing for the inconvenience blar, blar, blar which just makes me want to puke blood. Whatever happened to the customer is always right? I know the customer is not always right but I am. It seems now we are just a means to obtain the target figure for the month. I find more and more that I'm getting treated like my money belongs to them and I'm just looking after it till I spend it. So it looks like open season on shops. Any chance I get to have a go at shops, I will.

Aberfan

21 October 1966 A total of 144 people, including 116 children, died when a coal slagheap slid on to Pantglas Junior School in Aberfan. Some 145 children survived, and although they are now in their late 30s and early 40s, researchers found almost half of them had experienced post-traumatic stress disorder at some point since. These people will never forget that day and neather should we.
A tribunal found the National Coal Board was responsible for the disaster, but nobody was sacked or prosecuted. Villagers campaigned vigorously for the tip to be removed, spurred on by findings from the tribunal of inquiry which said an underground stream beneath the tip had probably contributed to the tip moving. The government eventually agreed, but the National Coal Board and the Treasury forced the villagers to contribute £150,000 from the disaster fund towards the removal costs. When I found this out it made me feel sick. Its like taking a dump on somebodys doorstep then charging them £20 to clear it up. The money was eventually repaid 30 years later at the instigation of the then Welsh Secretary Ron Davies, but without any interest payments. Cliff Minett, who lost two of his three children in the disaster, said: "It doesn't matter if it's one year or 40 years on - the pain is just the same."

Tired

For quite some months now I have been feeling quite tired and yarning a lot in work. I thought this was over work or lack of sleep but as soon as I got home I felt fine. I have now worked out what this is. I am bored stupid with my job.

The missing link update

The Link blamed the insurance company and the insurance company blamed The Link. So I told them both to stick it. Job done

The Missing Link

I have just got my mobile back from The Link where I had left it two weeks ago as It would not charge. I have had Insurance with them for over a year as I was convinced that something is bound to happen to it in eighteen months. This amounts to About £120. It seems that in the two weeks they have had my phone they have put in a second hand battery and scratched the phone in three different places. At the time of writing this (16:45) it has been on charge three hours and twentyminutess and still does not seem to be charging. If it does not charge you can be damn sure I will give FULL details of this company. I'll update you tomorroww.

Yes I know.

Cardiff University researchers have found a dangerous flaw in HSBC's online banking system (its called being on line). The Guardian says a security loophole could be exploited to break into any of the bank's 3.1 million UK online accounts within nine attempts. It relies on "key loggers" gadgets or software viruses that capture the keystrokes made on a particular computer which can enable a hacker to work out the information needed to successfully log onto an account within a few attempts. This just reinforces my opinion that there is no such thing as a secure connection. Banks seam to be saving money at our expense by closing local branches and expecting us to bank on line. To me banking on line amounts to walking down the road with your months wages held out in front of you. As soon as I received my on line banking details I destroyed them with out even looking at them and then sent my bank a letter thanking them for further compromising the security of my account. If I require a service from a company I am quite capable of asking for it. I do not want it shoved down my throat. The only other company that is stupid enough to do this is Arkwright on Open All Hours with his ginger cake.

Too Soft.

I have for sometime made fun of the politically correct crowed for being a bunch of paranoid, interfering idiots whose motives are purely financial. Now I was tempted to leave that entry there just as it was but the longer I live in London the more I realise that some people really are this stupid and do need to be wrapped in cotton wool. These people are usually in well paid jobs and look very smart. Having said this I must point out I have for sometime now known that there are many different forms of intelligence. For example, I know people who hold very important and well paid jobs who hold many people’s lives in there hands but god love um they couldn’t hit the side of a barn with a banjo so you can forget changing a fuse. They have no social skills and no practical skills. All they know is there job. I also know people who can’t read and write who can build you a 4 bedroom house with double garage without looking at a set of plans once. Knowledge does not equal wisdom. Anyway these people need saving from themselves. This brings me to my new campaign. The politically correct crowed have the right idea they’re just nit picking and being too soft. We need to group together and get hardcore on these reckless fools. For a start a few things need to be banned as they are far too dangerous. Here are a few of the first things to go.

4X4 vehicles, the front grills are too high and can cause a lot of damage to a person in a normal car, in fact any large car will have to go as well. Normal cars will go at a later date.

Sports like golf, cricket, tennis, polo and croquet. Far too dangerous. All them balls flying around and shooting you can forget straight away.

Large gatherings like race meetings, operas and garden party’s got to go as too many people in one place is asking for trouble.

Champagne? Not a chance. That cork could have somebody’s eye out.

All horses will be gathered and sent to another country and set free. One kick from one of them and you’ve had your lot.

First and business class travel will have to go as standard class is overcrowded and an accident waiting to happen.

So there we go just a few ideas to set us off. What I need now is a name with the first letters spelling something like scope or mind. If anybody has any ideas or you have noticed anything I have missed, just let me know.

Lynx 2

And why is it only blokes who notice when I've go it on. If that's the Lynx effect you can shove it. I'm sticking to Brute.

Lynx

They had a two for one deal on lynx at a large shop by me and I jumped at it. I forgot about it until this morning when I gave myself a good covering. It was at this point I noticed it was anti perspirant deodorant. How do you freaks ware that stuff? It was like spraying Evo stick under my arms. I washed it off as soon as I got to work. I would rather stink than go through that again. Can I interest anybody in two cans of Lynx anti perspirant deodorant?
